Skills Inc. is looking for an Electrical Engineer with our customer located in Redmond, WA. This is an 18-month vendor contract position. We're looking for an Electrical Engineer for our customer who will be: assisting design, implement, and document specification for thermal and power management features (exp. active/passive skin cooling, CPU cooling, battery & AC adapter energy management) Implement and optimize thermal management algorithms to provide system peak performance within system limitations (exp. target acoustics, skin temp, battery reliability limits, etc.).
Benchmark our customer's algorithms and provide competitive comparisons to various options Gather data for CPU characterization and studies (compare various CPU options from power/performance perspective) Characterize design from thermal and power perspective, calculate limitations for thermal and power, and collaborate with various mechanical, electrical, and software teams on design improvements Architect and develop stress tools and tests (exp. Lab and factory tests), drive analysis tool development, and execute studies on thermal and power (game studies, typical workload scenario studies, thermal distribution studies, etc.)
Develop, design, and implement electrical solutions for consumer electronic products including but not limited to schematic capture, part selection, PCB layout, analysis and validation of prototype systems that meet the goals of the product while managing constraints in space, time, cost, performance, power, signal integrity, timing margins, and manufacturing. Direct and coordinate electrical engineering services as required. Collaborate with design, firmware, compliance, mechanical engineering, and many other engineering and design disciplines to optimize the overall system of the product. Develop project documentation including specifications, schematic diagrams, PCB layouts, schedules and presentations to fully capture and communicate the electrical design to achieve the projects goals.
Key Qualifications and Responsibilities
- Hands-on experience in design, development and launch of high-volume consumer electronic product is a must.
- Requires strong design skills, managing through ambiguity, and technical problem solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing, leadership, verbal and written communication skills required.
- Experience using Cadence DE-HDL schematic capture and Allegro layout design tools.
- Excellent project management, communication and teamwork skills required.
BS, MS or PhD in EE required and/or 5-10 years of relevant experience
